ABACITAN TO PATRONATE PERSONNEL TO BETWEEN ASSISTANCE TO PERSONS WITH DUNCABACITY

To report and provide a more accessible place for persons with disabilities, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) jointly with the Old Panama Board held a workshop "Learning about disability" for guides and security stations at the site.

At that training, participants received educational tools to understand their daily problems and to propose solutions to support people with physical, intellectual, visual, hearing and reduced mobility at the site.

"It's a program that allows us to activate collective learning scenarios from which we can generate complete and situated knowledge about disability," said Lalys ArRocha, social worker and program coordinator from MiCultura.

Meanwhile, Julieta Arango, executive director of Panama Viejo's Board of Trustees, noted that "all material provided during the workshop will be of great help to our staff have the best tools to offer appropriate care commensurate with the different types of public that visit us."

The training was directed at administrative personnel, guides and the colonial guard of the Inter-Agency Protection System (PRI) who work in the monumental ensemble of Old Panama.
