EFE News Agency Celebrates 50 Years of Presence in Central America

A tour of Central American history through the looks of the photographers of the EFE Agency can be seen at the exhibition called "Central America, 50 years in 50 images" that was put up at the Museo de la Libertad located at Ancón, Revertida Area.
With this sample, EFE celebrates five decades of its collection of different events framed in biodiversity, culture, traditions, sports and the challenges that have signified the history of the region.
They are shown with 50 exclusive images of the War of the Saviour, the Sandinista Revolution in Nicaragua or the detention of Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández as well as internationally awarded images and will be open until January 8, 2023.
"For fifty years, EFE has been the eye that has seen us from the inside, not only at the bad political or economic moments we have been living as a region but through its commitment to the Cultural, historic and original Center of America," said Cultural Minister Giselle González Villarrué during her speech at the opening of this interesting exhibition.
"To be able to tell the world who we are, how we love, how we live, where we come from, have been only possible through an ally that has been able to bind the points of that link that binds all peoples of Central America, Latin America and Ibero-America," added González Villarrué.
The event will be complemented with a forum entitled "Panama, an axis of sustainable development in Central America," at which we will have a dialogue about the challenges of Panama and the rest of Central America to consolidate more inclusive, innovative and democratic growth and to use the immense biodiversity wealth of the country that will be held on November 15th at the City of Knowledge from 5: 00 p.m.
For his part, Gabriela Cañas, first woman who presides the EFE Agency in 83 years of history, emphasized that "this is a very special birthday, because 50 years ago the agency came as ACAN EFE with 12 Central American means and today we are still on an adventure working in the region and that we should not be regarded as a Spanish but an American company that wants to tell the world what's going on in Central America."
