The U.S. and Panama seek to work with cultural projects

Staff from the U.S. Embassy in Panama met with directors of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) with a view to monitoring common projects and programs and collaborating in different areas, strengthening and strengthening the cultural links between both nations.

He responded to his Vice Minister of Culture, Gabriel González and to Yessenia Sánchez, head of technical cooperation leading the meeting, where his projects and needs were shown by authorities, such as: improvements at the Balboa Theater, exchange of specialized personnel, crafts fairs, creative industries, training and scholarships, among others.

Vice-Minister González emphasized the need to work with an inclusive culture, because "when we talk about culture, we talk about identity, we want to create that transformation, reduce discrimination and work with mutual respect among all groups."

Nicole Gallagher, Public Affairs Counsellor at the U.S. Embassy in Panama was pleased and thanked to MiCultura's staff for their time at presenting their projects and mentioned that "we will continue these talks, work on an agenda to put them into practice."

The meeting was attended by the U.S. embassy, Nicole Gallagher, Public Affairs Counsellor, Giselle Mercier, Emerging Voice Specialist, Ramón Real, Emergency Voice Coordinator, Sarah Ferguson, specialist in links with expert leaders and Carlos Gavilanes, Corodal's superintendent American Cemetery and MiCultura's managers.

That meeting was part of the actions of the technical cooperation office at MiCultura that sought an approach with other nations with a view to collaborating jointly with them with cultural projects.
