MiCultura participates in Forum on Future Cooperative Opportunities with Korea

"Creative Economics and Digitization: A look from the Ministry of Culture" was the presentation by his deputy ministers, Gabriel González at the Forum of the Central American Integration System (SICA) called "Future Cooperation Opportunities," organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Panama and held this Monday.

Vice-Minister González stated "that the Creative Economy is fast growing in the world where creativity is a renewable, sustainable and unlimited resource, vital for inclusive economic growth, reducing inequalities and meeting the goals set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development."

He also emphasized that the inclusion and ethics of artificial intelligence in cultural processes should guarantee equal access and opportunities, fair remuneration for artists and linguistic development in diversity of online content.

For González, MiCultura aims to promote the development of the creative economy by focusing on training new talents and developing new skills in cultural employment.

The issues addressed by the panelists included: Evaluation of the Current SICA and Future Vision Cooperation; International cooperation in the digital transformation of higher education in areas with difficulties of access; Risk Management and Climate Change and Agricultural Cooperation.

The event was attended by Ana Luisa Castro, Deputy Minister of Multilateral Affairs and Cooperation, Jeong Jinkyu, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Panama and Donaldo Sinisterra, Dean of the University of Panama Civil Service School.

The links between Korea and SICA countries have been strengthened in recent years with Korea's accession as an Extracordonal Observer Member of SICA.
