MiCultura gives recognition to "Living Treasures" from Araijan

With a waste of joy, traditions and a lot of folklore was inaugurated the Amphitheater Luciardo and Severina Rodriguez, that will be located in Arraijan District and where the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) became present with the surrender of recognitions to 11 "Living Treasures," that have contributed to the development of art in the province of West Panama.

"We are proud of this great work that will be a space for families, children, their parents, grandparents and so forth to have great cultural and artistic events," said Minister Giselle González Villarrué. "At the same time we paid tribute to those who had the vision and made an effort to achieve this ground that made it possible for us to celebrate this work, as are Luciardo and Severina Rodriguez."

Adalberto Luciardo Rodriguez Rosales, director of the Folklórico Arrayan group, president of the Holy Living Week of Arraijan and promoter of the amphitheater; Isabel Peralta, traditional cook, Javier Barrios, accordionist, Liannys Morales, cultural manager and folklorist, Miracles Blade, percussionist, Kenya Soto, composer, Dimas Reyes, accordionist, Azo Gómez and Manuel Gómez, both folkloric percussionists.

A posthumous tribute was paid for his contributions to Arraijan's traditions and customs to the Folklorists María Elena Rodriguez and José Inés Tejada.

These personalities have been part of the gallery of "Living Treasures," capsules that MiCultura highlights every Monday through its digital platforms and in which, according to Karen Peralta, national director of Folklore of the cultural entity "are a sign of our commitment to the value of the knowledge of communities and their people. Through these spaces about 300 characters have been made known and visited more than 324 communities throughout the country."
