The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué and his counterpart for Foreign Affairs and Culture of India, Meenakshi Lekhi signed an agreement on Cultural and Educational Cooperation with the aim of strengthening the links between the two governments as a reminder of the implementation of the agreement signed between them in 2001 in New Delhi.

The signing of this convention aims to share initiatives aimed at the implementation, formalization and deepening of cultural exchange activities and includes programs with regard to music, dance festivals, development of theater works, experiences and exchange of exhibitions and art exhibitions.

Minister González Villarrué said that for Panama it's an honor to consolidate cultural relations with the people and government of India and expressed his gratitude to President Laurentino Cortizo for his "confidence and important cooperation with the Panamanian people."

For her part, India's Minister for Foreign Affairs and Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi felt it was a "great honor to be here and enjoy relations between them, and they are warm and friendly and have remained at age 60."

He added that "an incredible tangible and intangible legacy with a great cultural wealth in performing arts, crafts, music and dance, we have to recognize and care for and preserve them."
