Islas de Balboa get Reading Center

The National Government continues with the programs of the Colmena Plan with different benefits through interagency gears and with a different impact on the 300 most vulnerable cordments in the country.

As part of this state synergy, in support of the initiative of the president of the Republic Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) through the Cultural Rights and Citizenship Directorate gave up four new hives to the Islas San Miguel, La Esmeralda, Guinea and Pedro González of the Balboa District in Panama Province on Wednesday.

He responded to the representatives of each of the communities benefiting from them, to get the implements that nurture these spaces as they are, the 120 books for each place and an organizer and a package so that they can move them to other communities so that they become a library that can move from place to place.

The welcome of these cultural enclosures was held at the Communal Board of the Island of San Miguel, where his representative Rodolfo Ibebez welcomed this initiative with a responsibility to promote the habit of reading in the residents of the island.

Dilma Pérez, representative of Pedro González, Abel Santimateo, the highest authority of Guinea, Rosa Eneida of Isla Esmeralda, José Laspilla, Vice Mayor of the Balboa District, Luigi Luna, and Javier Thomas, Director of Communication at MiCultura were also represented.

With the installation of Colmenan Reading Center, MiCultura meets with the Colmena Plan with this way with joy, adventure and knowledge with books by Panamanian authors, prize winners and national literary competitions.

With this delivery we have reached 268 hives at national level where Chiriquí, Bocas del Toro, Colón, Herrera and Panama have completed these reading spaces and soon reached the goal of placing 300 in the Reforms of the Colmena Plan.
