A total of 13 Colmena Learning Centres were delivered to the districts of Soná and Las Palmas of the province of Veraguas as part of the actions of the Community Work Tour (GTC) undertaken by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen with members of his work team and local authorities of the province.

The epicentre of the activity was developed in the Soná District where with regard to cultural matters as well as the vice-minister of culture, Gabriel González gave ten new Colmenal Reading centers to representatives of the recordments benefiting from the Colmena Plan.

The benefits were Sona Cabequera, Calidonia, Bahia Onda, Cative, El Marañón, Rodeo Viejo, Las Palmas, El Pixvae, Río de Jesús and Las Huacas.

Similarly, 17 artisan from the province dedicated to different areas have been accredited as an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of being at the Artisanal Registry that MiCultura makes.

Also, two ladies have been recognised as "Maestro Artesano," they are Diana Saldaña in manufacturing and textiles and Dolores Cordero expert in the manufacture of ceramics, jewelry, leather and plastic arts. That distinction corresponds to an honorary mention that is given to artisans who, by their extensive experience, dedicated to production and teaching of artisan technologies.

Meanwhile, in the district of Las Palmas, Daniel Domínguez, national director of The Arts at the Ministry of Culture was charged with visiting the cordments of El Viguí, Corozal and Zapotillo to surrender to the members of these locations his new cultural enclosures that will surely be enjoyed by children and youth and adults from these remote communities.

Dominguez, at each of the points congratulated the community for making every corner a party with balloons and decorations as this should be a "place of joy" for all and talked about the importance of them using that place, because a library without readers is an area of silence, a lifeless area, that's there for all of us.

"With this literature of Panamanian authors have a world of information about knowledge, each book tells a particular story so they have more than a hundred stories, and if you leave the premise that the book is a good friend, then here are many friends who are expecting them to put them together," Dominguez added.

On this tour, the authority of MiCultura was accompanied by Mariela García, director with responsibility for the National Library of Santiago, who read some fun stories to those present and will also cooperate with the regional headquarters of the cultural entity will be organizing and monitoring the Colmena Reading Centres in the province.
The opening up of reading spaces allows children, youth and adults to have access to the reading of books by Panamanian authors and winners of the literary competitions organized by MiCultura.

To date, 179 reading centers have been established with a total of 644 reading mediators throughout the country, and the National Government plans to open 300 throughout the country, especially with more poverty ratio corrections.
