Panama, July 31, 2026. The National Ballet of Panama presented a special role at the La Huaca Theater of the Atlapa Convention Center as part of the artistic program of the XLVI National Crafts Fair, offering the public a tour of the traditions, folklore and cultural wealth of the country through dance.

The Gala brought together a repertoire that highlighted Panamanian identity through choreographies inspired by popular and folkloric expressions. Among the works performed were Viva Panama, El Gallo and la Gallina, Densan Espejos, La Dama de la pollera, Reto among others, a proposal that fuses the classical ballet with the rhythms of typical Panamanian dance, and Al Tambor de la Alegría, that received a warm ovation from the public.

One of the most emotional moments of the presentation was the participation of the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, who became part of the cast to play the piece "El Punto Santa Librada," sharing stage with the dancers of the National Ballet with a sign of support for the artistic expressions and cultural heritage of the country.

The presentation brought together families, national and foreign visitors who enjoyed a staging with an interpretative quality, a colorful wardrobe and a fusion between ballet technique and traditional Panamanian manifestations.

With this presentation, the Ministry of Culture continues to bring performing arts closer to new audiences and to strengthen the cultural planning of the National Crafts Fair, one of the main meetings dedicated to promoting the talent, traditions and creativity of Panamanian artisans and artists.
