Panama becomes the international capital of ballet with artists from 11 countries

Panama, June 4, 2026. The stage of the Aura B. Torrijos Theater of the City of the Arts will open its doors to welcome some of the most outstanding figures from international dance during the Panama Ballet Festival 2026, an unprecedented artistic celebration that will bring together from June 4 to 7 companies, teachers and dancers from more than 11 countries.
Encouraged by the Ministry of Culture and the National Ballet of Panama, this festival pays tribute to Margot Fonteyn, a world legend of the ballet and a figure deeply linked to Panama. The event promise to become one of the most important cultural events of the year, offering the public a unique opportunity to enjoy high level artistic performances without leaving the country.
For five days, attendees will be able to appreciate a varied program that will include classical, neoclassical and contemporary repertoire, performed by well-known international companies and artists from Colombia, Cuba, Uruguay, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Ukraine, Venezuela, El Salvador and Panama, among others.
Among the guests are representatives of the Metropolitan Ballet of Medellín, Incol Ballet of Colombia, artists from the Gran Kyiv Ballet of Ukraine, members of the National Ballet of the odre of Uruguay and the recognized first Cuban dancer Viengsay Valdés. Also, the Panamanian public will have the opportunity to meet with the outstanding Panamanian dancer Manuelita Navarro, who develops a successful international race.
The Panama National Ballet will also be leading with a special program that includes the premiere of a new choreographic creation by the Cuban master Eduardo Blanco, especially designed for the company at this important meeting.
More than a festival, this will be an experience to celebrate the beauty, technique and emotion of dance, bringing the public closer to great exponents of the world ballet and strengthening Panama as a cultural reference point in the region.
