Panama May 7, 2027. The National Ballet of Panama made history by presenting for the first time in Panama the complete ballet El Corsario, one of the most iconic works of the universal classical repertoire, currently held at the Anayansi Theater, until 9 May.

The production, artificially directed by Sasa Adamovic and with choreography by master David Makhateli, brought together 55 dancers with applicants from the National Ballet and featured the live accompaniment of 61 musicians from the Panama Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of guest master Valery Ovsyanikov.

The stage was highlighted by his visual display with four great performing environments, with more than 170 rooms specially designed for the work and participation of renowned Panamanian designers and artists.

During the opening gala, the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, described the presentation as "an historic night for Panama" and noted that this production strengthens the projection of the National Ballet as an artistic reference place in the region.

The Minister also announced the conduct of the International Panama National Ballet Festival, to be held from June 3 to June 7, as part of the cultural agenda related to the Bicentennial of Panama's Anifictionic Congress.
