Panama 11 February 2026. Panama participated in the Special Meeting of the Council of Ministers and Ministers of Education and Culture at the CECC / SICA, convened virtual on 11 February by the Dominican Republic's Pro Tempore Presidency.

The participation of María Eugenia Herrera, Minister of Culture, and Katherine Bucktron, Panama's national coordinator to the CECC / SICA, have been part of the regional dialogue with their counterparts from Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica and Dominican Republic.

The session addressed key financial issues of the CECC Executive Secretariat and discussed the selection process for the Belize Executive Secretariat and the submission of a technical proposal to preserve the principle of rotation in this office.

Another central point was the definition of general guidelines of organization and methodology for the conduct of the LI Regular Meeting of the CECC / SICA, to be held in Dominican Republic in June 2026.

The participation of Panama confirms the importance of regional cooperation and the commitment to continue to promote joint projects and policies that strengthen the cultural and educational development of member countries during 2026.
