Panama, 18 December 2025. The Ministry of Culture held an official closure of the ninth edition of the Writer Training Program (PROFE), an academic space that has been established since 2017 as a fundamental sewer for the development of new voices of Panamanian literature.

During the event, the completion certificates were given to the 101 participants of the seven workshops that make up the program, recognizing their efforts, discipline and commitment throughout the training process.

In this edition, the PROFE offered workshops of Novela, Cuento, Cinema Guion, Dramaturgia, Essay, Poetry and Creative Writing, conducted by well-known writers and academics with a high track record, including Alondra Badano, Ela Urriola, Edgar Soberón Torchia, Rodolfo De Gracia, Héctor Collado and Mónica Miguel, all with outstanding work at national and international literary level.

The Vice-Minister of Culture, Arianne Benedetti, noted that the course's participants gain more tools for their personal and professional development, enabling them to face their lives with a more solid attitude, whether to perform their work or to strengthen their communication with their work, with their families and with their daily lives. During their intervention, she also thanked their teachers for their commitment and dedication to sharing their knowledge.

Meanwhile, Elodia Muñoz, participant with two editions of PROFE, highlighted the quality of the program and expressed his interest in applying again next year. He indicated that the experience was decisive to complete his essay and that the lessons obtained contributed to an award.

The ceremony featured Arianne Benedetti, deputy ministers of culture, Ivis Moreno, general secretary, Gianni Bianchini, national director of Las Artes, Lastenia González, director of Equal Opportunities and Aleida De Gracia, head of the Department of Fairs and Literary Meetings and coordinator of PROFE, as well as teachers, special and family guests and friends of the participants.
