The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, as Coordinator of the Commission on Culture and Sport, submitted to the National Disability Advisory Council (CONADIS) a comprehensive report on the progress and results achieved with regard to culture and sport as part of the Organization's Tenth Regular Meeting.

He emphasized his institutional commitment to ensuring the full inclusion of persons with disabilities and to promoting their active participation in the different cultural, training and sports spaces of the country.

The Minister noted that under the co-ordination of the Commission for Culture and Sport, 4,512 persons with disabilities have been registered with 223 cultural and sports activities and 2,745 have been trained through 72 activities focused on accessibility, public policies and rights of persons with disabilities.

In terms of accessibility, information was given about the opening of the Blue Palco at the Rommel Fernández Stadio and about improvements implemented at Mariano Rivera and "Gato Brujo" Salinas stadiums.

In the cultural sector, 159 sign-language interpretation services were performed, 105 accessible documents were produced and advanced at the level of three accessible libraries and an investment of B /. 435.233.00 was highlighted for the accessibility adequacy of Reina Torres de Araúz and Changuinola's Fine Arts Center.

With regard to inclusive artistic education, the Minister reported that 384 students with disabilities are members of the Network of Youth Chors and Orchestra of Panama and 397 students are enrolled at the Educational Centres of Art and Folklore.

One of the most important achievements was the "Music for All Festival," which brought together 27 student groups in eight hours of continuous presentations, as well as the Mil Corazones project, A Vision, that benefited more than 800 children and young people, including 480 participants from our Can Dream project in Panamanian sign language.

The Minister also announced the next performance of the VII Inclusive Gala, with more than 90 artists with and without disabilities and expects to bring together 800 assistants at the Multifunctional Theater Aurea "Baby" Torrijos de la Ciudad de las Artes.

At the sports level, important results obtained by disabled athletes were highlighted: 14 medals at the Tbilisi 2025 Para--powerlifting World Cup, 13 medals at the PanAmerican Youth Games Chile 2025 and the first and second place at the first Central American Women's Volleyball Championship for Sordas Panama 2025.

Also highlighted was Panama's historic participation in the IHSO 2025 American Goalball Championship and the organization of the IHHE's Sextus Games of Adapted Sport, which brought together 5,385 students in 10 disciplines.

The report reflected a total economic contribution of B /. 640,840,19 in culture and B /. 1.056,9700.00 in sports as an evidence of the efforts undertaken by the National Government to strengthen the inclusion, accessibility and comprehensive development of persons with disabilities throughout the country.

Minister Herrera concluded, reiterating the institutional commitment to continue to promote actions to guarantee the full exercise of cultural and sports rights and to have free participation in all spaces of community life.

At this meeting, the results of the second National Disability Survey were presented as well as the presentation of an Atlas Digital and Accessible Disability platform.
