Panama, December 12, 2025. - The Panamanian documentary feature film "El Brujo: Julio Zachrisson" earned a new prize at the awards organized by the International Documentaries Association (IDA), an annual event that recognizes and honors excellence in documentary cinema worldwide.

"The Witch" received an award from "Best Original Musical Composition," Best Original Music Score, during the 41 edition of the IDA Documentary Awards. More than 550 participating projects from 85 countries were received in this version of the awards.

The documentary "El Brujo" (The Witch) is an award-winning project of the 2017 Fondo Cine National Competition, directed by Félix Guardia and produced by Tomas Cortés. The musical composition of the project was performed by Frédéric Filiatre.

The Witch: Julio Zachrisson, a documentary that offers an intimate picture of the life and work of the influential Panamanian artist Julio Zachrisson (1927-2021).
He tells the story of an unexpected friendship between a young Panamanian filmmaker and legendary artist Julio Zachrisson, who resided in Madrid and faced blindness in his old age. He uses unprecedented interviews and archived material to explore memory, identity and art as a bridge between generations.
