Panama, September 14, 2025. Highlands, ChiriquíThe Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, participated this year in the ninth version of the Parada de las Flores and el Café, one of the most representative events of the province of Chiriquí. On this occasion, the title of Culture was dominated by the parade with Panama's former president, Mireya Moscoso, at an event that highlighted pride and national identity.

The parade, held in Highlands with events in Volcano and New California, brought together thousands of visitors to admire more than a million flowers that adorned carriages, figures and arrangements that decorated the streets.

The rain did not prevent people and tourists from enjoying this holiday, which also included the participation of national and international gangs, middlees, folk groups and local artisan.

During her participation, the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, expressed that this celebration is an example of the cultural potential of the province and of Panama as a whole:
"To the Ministry of Culture it's an honor to support this activity that strengthens the identity and dynamizes the local economy. To see so many families, artists and visitors gathered around culture motivate us to continue to work so that these traditions will endure and be designed internationally."

The Parada de las Flores and el Café is organized by the Fundación Parada de las Flores and el Café, chaired by Vicky López and supported by the Ministry of Culture as an official sponsor. The event aims to stimulate local economy and promote family culture and to attract artistic expressions from across the country and from foreign residents in Panama.

The provincial director of the Ministry of Culture at Chiriquí, Gregorio González, emphasized that the institution will continue to support activities that promote Panamanian identity and traditions while the president of the organizing Foundation emphasized the value of this stop for the economy and cultural projection of Highlands.

With floral caravas, music, dance, gastronomy and crafts, Parada de las Flores and Café 2025 strengthens its role as one of the most iconic celebrations of the region and a family meeting space that preserves and promotes Panama's cultural heritage.
