Panama, September 13, 2025. More than 60 volunteers participated this month from the program "We care for the earth and our monuments" of the Office of the Casco Antiguo (OCA), an entity of the Ministry of Culture. The day of cleanliness of beaches, squares and monuments takes place this month in commemoration of the World Day of Beaches Cleansing that takes place September 20.

That initiative, vital to protecting marine life and preserve the beauty of our heritage, was supported by volunteers from the American University (UAM), the Scout Panama and members of Potter Friends pTY.

Articles such as foam, cans, tires, cartons, plastic bottles, parts of cars, aluminium and glass were collected in about 80 bags, and they were then removed by the Aseo Authority.

That activity did not only contribute to the cleanliness of the area but also helped to promote an environmental awareness and a sense of community among participants.
