Panama City, August 22, 2025. A night of art, music and tradition was with great enthusiasm during the folkloric gala organized by the Ministry of Culture, where more than 100 dancers, 45 musicians from the Orchestra of the Musical and Cultural Foundation, together with singers and poetry, gave life to an emotional, cheerful and especially full of national pride.

The event began with the arrival of artists, musicians and dancers, who walked through the red carpet with the public.

The guests visited the galleries dedicated to Folklorists and appreciated the pictorial exhibition of GANCIA University, which enriched the evening, exhaling the legacy of Panamanian people who love our traditions and knowledge, leaving an invaluable heritage with the preservation of our folklores.

The Vice Minister of Culture, Arianne Benedetti, gave the words of openness, highlighting the value of Panamanian folklore as the soul of our culture.

The celebration had a varied program of dance and musical presentations, including: the Oberture of the mejorana, the Vistista Colonense, the Danzón Cumbia Momma Eva, Tres Pasillas pal Baile, La Espina, the traditional Dance of the devils, and a great close with a Folkloric Mix that united all the groups.

During the gala, recognition was given to participating folkloric groups, received by partners of dancers and their directors. Also, we paid tribute to leading promoters and guardians of the national folkloran for their tirelessly work in the rescue, outreach and promotion of our traditions.

Among the honors were Deisy De León, Víctor Céspedes, Wendy Tribaldos, Getzabel Sandoval, Efraín Gutiérrez (in name of Xiomara Samudo), Nisla Chavez, Denia Vergara, GANDIA University and its rector Ricaurte Martínez, creators of the symbolic bust of Dora Pérez de Zárate, became an emblem for Panamanian folklorists. Also a recognition was awarded to master José Luis Cajar, a pillar of his musical education.

The evening concluded with the intervention of the director of Folklore, José Sosa, who emphasized the commitment of artists and groups as well as the value of folklore in the Panamanian identity
