As part of Corpus Christi's commemorative activities, the Ministry of Culture, through the Folklore National Directorate, supports and emphasizes our nation's folkloric manifestations and living cultural heritage.

The Villa de Los Santos includes a monumental carpet with more than 18 metres and an image of St. Michael and the Three divine Powers. That unique work is prepared by a group of international carpets especially invited for this celebration.

The activities continue with the traditional Eucharist and the procession of Corpus Christi, accompanied by the typical dances that form part of the festive ritual. On this occasion, we will have the special participation of the deputy ministers of culture, Ariane Benedetti, at the solemn mass.

At Parita, the Ministry of Culture also appoints with the designation of the National Director of Folklore, José Alberto Sosa as Abandado de Honor of the religious ceremony.

With the support of its registration as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO, this celebration takes on national relevance and becomes a platform to exalt our popular beliefs, traditions and expressions.

The Ministry of Culture says present at every corner where our customs flourish, accompanying and enhancing the immaterial heritage that gives life to Panamanian identity.
