The Budget Commission of the National Assembly, chaired by MEP Sergio Gálvez, approved two departures amounting to a total of B /. 10,465,602.00 in favor of the Ministry of Culture.

The Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, with his work team, supported this request, which seeks to put important cultural investment projects that promote sustainable development and guarantee access to cultural rights for all Panamanians.

The projects include: Rehab of music auditory theatres at the City of The Arts, restoration project at the San Felipe Church of Portobelo and the St. John's Chapel of God and its surroundings, sponsorship of San Lorenzo, Rehab of the Anel Omar Barrera Cultural Center, Network of Orchestra and Children's and Youth Choirs of Panama, National Crafts Fair, Training of technicians in art, Cultural and Folkloric Center of Las Tablas.

The incumbent of the Ministry of Culture emphasized his Government's commitment to guaranteeing cultural rights for all citizens.

In that regard, she noted that work was currently under way and with responsibility, within the framework of institutional skills, to advance the attainment of these goals.

During the maintenance of the transfer, high-level officials from the Ministry of Culture were represented and supported with the Minister of Culture the different movements of parties that fall under his direction.

They included General Secretary Ivis Moreno, Finance Director Fernando Bolívar and Director of the Panama Network of Orquestas and Children and Youth Coros, Electra Castillo and Infrastructure Director Carlos Him and Legal Counsel Director Beatriz Castañet and National Director of Crafts and Cristina de la Guardia and architect Javier Edwards representing the Cultural Heritage Section.
