Panama February 12, 2025. "It's a dream to be here. Before, I only saw places like this abroad. That's an art temple that they have to take advantage of," Omar Alfanno expressed his thrill to 56 youth from Panama, La Chorro and Chitre who participate in the second Music and Artistic Camp at the Music Festival during his visit at the City of the Arts.

The youth, select from 250 candidates, through a demanding hearing process, are living a week of musical immersion, learning from great art and music references.

During his visit, Omar Alfanno shared a talk with his students, in which he reported anecdotes about his creative process and his musical trajectory, highlighting success as "A History of A Love" and "A Pure Pain."

The famous Panamanian singer emphasized the importance of discipline and inspiration in his musical race and shared that at his age of 68, he continues to compose new songs.

For her part, Cultural Minister María Eugenia Herrera motivated young people to persevere in their artistic formation. "The inspiration comes from teachers and there's an entire generation that has left a legacy. Do not clout in their desire to shine in whatever stage life puts them ahead of them," she said.

He also called for work as a whole so that the City of the Arts will continue to grow and consolidate itself as a cultural reference point in the country.

The Minister of Culture took this opportunity to show master Omar Alfanno and his wife the new facilities of the City of the Arts, and reaffirmed the importance of generating spaces where culture lives, sits and transformed lives.

The teacher was accompanied by his wife, Carmen Alfanno, and the event's organizers, Madelaine Leighnadier and Ricardo Velásquez.
