Transforms cultures and values: Panama's Network of Orquestas and Children's and Youth Choirs celebrates its eighth anniversary

The Network of Orquestas and Chors Infantiles and Juveniles of Panama will be performing this 12 July eight years since its establishment, representing a significant milestone in its trajectory, marked by continuous growth and outstanding achievements. Over these years, it has been able to expand to different regions of the country, bringing with it not only musical teaching but also a message of unity, discipline and personal survival.
His first and only 180 beneficiaries date back to 2009 as his director, María Eugenia Herrera, established his National System of Orquestas, Bandas and Children's and Youth Chors of Panama through his then National Institute of Culture (today MiCultura), convinced that music was one of the most powerful tools for generating positive changes in people.
In 2016, with the need to consolidate this project as part of an integrated cultural strategy to positively impact a vulnerable segment of the population as our children and youth, Panama's National Network of Orquestas and Coros Infantiles and Juveniles currently stands at more than 6 000 children and youth throughout the country.
With lively melodies in a free concert program for the public at large, Panama's Network of Orchestra and Youth Cores commemorates its eighth anniversary, highlighting its commitment to the artistic excellence and full training of its students.
The commemorative concerts start on Saturday, July 13th at the Civil School of Santiago with the presentation of the Children and Youth Chors and Orquestas from 10: 30 a.m., on the other hand, the Cathedral St. John's Baptist of Penonomé will host the second presentation of this program of concerts with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Coclé from 7: 00 p.m.
On 16 July, the celebration will continue in the province of Colón with the presentation of the Children's Choir of Alto de los Lagos, at the institutional building of the residential complex.
Finally, on July 27 and 28, the Panama National Theater will be dressed as a gala with the performances of the "Big Band" of the Orchestra Network, the Metropolitan Youth Chorus and the Network's Youth Symphony Orchestra.
