The Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué and Cuba's ambassador to Panama and also performing as a representative of the Caribbean Ministry of Culture, Victor Cairo Palomo, sealed a protocol of cultural exchange that will favor artists, cultural managers and specialists in the different manifestations of culture and art.

The document signed will allow cooperation in a number of cultural expressions, for example, in the area of cinema and dance, with projects as a whole, where students and teachers will benefit from training and artistic research plans.

Following his signing, the Cuban diplomat, Víctor Cairo Palomo expressed "an honor to sign this agreement, which constitutes a shared vision characterized by links marked by performing arts, plastic arts, literature and heritage, and this document being a commitment to continue to work through an enabling legal framework to strengthen our brotherhood."

For her part, the Minister of Culture, Giselle González Villarrué, emphasized that "through this agreement we reiterate our solidarity, friendship and art that unites us and that signing is the beacon that lights up a new generation that is apprised of knowledge and preparation."

He recalled that the convention will allow some Panamanian filmmakers to have been prepared at the Cuban Film Academy, so with "this firm we continue to have bridges of union between both countries," added González Villarrué.

The parties propose to promote cooperation between their competent institutions or departments with respect to the conservation, restoration and preservation of cultural property and to exchange specialized information and legal documentation concerning the protection of cultural heritage.
