The Network of Museums and Visitor's Centres of Panama launched the third Congress of Education and Museums under the motto "Open Museum, transformation and innovation," to be held on October 2 and 3 at the Marriot Hotel in Albrook and October 4 at the City of Knowledge.

The presentation of this activity was supported by statements by architect Itzela Quiros, Director of National Museums and Director of Heritage at the Ministry of Culture and Dr. María Heller, Director of Innovation in Learning Science and Technology at SENACYT and Amanda Deco, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Network of Museums and Visitor Centres of Panama.

It was detailed that the congress will be dedicated to the professionalization of those who work and cooperate with more than 60 museum institutions that work for the conservation of the material and intangible heritage of the nation.

The contents have been divided into four thematic themes: "Museums and Citizenship," "Digital Strategies," "Conservation and Restoration" and "Organizational Synergies." Each has an international guest in charge of a master's paper or a forum where there will be an opportunity to hear different experiences about the same issue.

In the case of "Museums and citizenship" we are accompanied by Dr. Leticia Pérez Castellanos from Mexico. The paper will be aimed at evaluating basic tools for online mobilization of museums and visiting centers. He will be a teacher and researcher at the Department of Audiovisual Communication, Documentation and History of Art (DCADHA) and the Institute of Design and Manufacture (IDA) at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. We will have a paper about the digital transformation in Latin American museums by Dr. Trinidad Zaldívar (Chile), who is head of the Unit of Creativity and Culture of the Sector of Knowledge, Innovation and Communications of the Inter-American Development Bank (BID). His work aims to expand the worlds of culture and creativity to infuse innovative thought throughout the Bank's work spectrum.

He will also be Dr. Massimo Bernadi, who runs the Research and Collection Office of MUSE - Trent Science Museum (Italy) - where he also holds paleontology. He monitored the design of temporary exhibitions and permanent museum installations and was the author of more than hundreds of scientific and outreach publications focused on the museology, paleontology and the concept of anthropocene.

A representative of the Association of Caribbean Museums will be Dr. Ariana A. Curtis. Dr. Curtis is dedicated to creating inclusive frameworks that put an end to marginalization, misrepresentation and systemic suppression. She is the first Conservative of Latino Studies at the Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History and Culture, where she leads research and collections focused on Latinity. Special visits and workshops
