The Santo Domingo Convent (Arco Chato) became an epicentre to enjoy the 5th Panama Writer's Festival with a program that included presentations of books, converatoriums, poetry and music that was organized by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) in partnership with independent writers of Panama (EINPA) and Poetic Panama.

More than fifty established and emerging writers have been offering their works to the public as well as sharing their literary feel, their experiences within the literary world and especially their motivations in writing and publishing their works.

In this respect, Héctor Young, María Gomez, Carlos Gagnell, Fígaro Abrego and Marisabel Salas among others caught the public with an explanation of his writings and invited those present to support his writers and to consume Panamanian literature.

One of the outstanding activities of this first session was the dramatised reading of "The Prince" by the theater group of the Pan American Institute (IPA) leading the writer, actor and theater director Manuel Paz, who together with talented children brought up the adventures of the protagonist with characters such as pink, snake, aviator and fox.

For the second day called "verses under the Chat Arch," 14 poets, including Flor Lozicdro, Moses Pasquual, Carolina Duarte, Alex Mariscal, Ginnie Haskins and Linda Aswood, led the public to immerse themselves in a sea of fantasies reflected in letters that was complemented with a gallery of artists including Mariana Pérez (soprano), Julie Minelli, Melanie Taylor and Razny Kant.

Enrique Noel, director of Cultural Rights and Citizenship emphasized "that these spaces serve to familiarize the public with his writers, guaranteeing his creation and his right to have access to these literary creations."

The official also reiterated his invitation to celebrate next April 2, from 11: 00 a.m. at the Delphin's Pasillo at the Albbrook Mall Shopping Centre, the Children and Youth Literature Day, where it has been projected from a parade of advanced posters to date and an interesting literary afternoon aimed at enabling children and youth to love books and literature.
