The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) is currently supporting the second edition of the Grand Fund Cycling Challenge, Reto Boquete, with a concept of combining sport, culture and tourism from each region and highlighting the customs, traditions and gastronomy of the area.
The event will be held next August 14 in Boquete, Province of Chiriquí and we are expecting the participation of about 500 cyclists and their accompaniments, an inclusive event where disabled paedalists will participate in the amateur, beginners and advanced categories.
José Ismael Herrera, Secretary General of MiCultura expressed that "for the second time the country will innovate with this important international biking activity by promoting our own and telling the world that Panama, as well as a channel, is an area full of history, with a cultural treasure, for the enjoyment of our visitors."
Rodolfo Jury, director Gran Founding Cycling Challenge said that "the key to this event is to have a cultural impact on the biker, the amateur and the public while travelling and stopping at Cultural Oasis."
He added that "this is a very good experience where coffee, flowers and local cuisine will be represented and we are sure that they will enjoy it for everything Boquete has to offer."
MiCultura will participate for the second time, at this international event, presenting to the Panamanian and foreign public at hydration points, called "Cultural Oasis," some significant sign of the customs and traditions of the region.
