Juan Carlos Marcos, a painter, publicist and sculptor of Argentina but a Panamanian heart, was honored at his 91 year old by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) through the Department of Visual Arts of the Direction of The Arts in association with the Embassy of Panama in Turkey.

Juan Carlos Marcos arrives in Panama by means of two important plastic artists, Guillermo Trujillo and Alberto "Pipito" Duary and presented his first exhibition at the Panamanian Institute of Art (today's Museum of Contemporary Art) where he was received with joy and interest, with this house being one of the locations where some of his jobs have been exhibited.

The recognition was awarded at an emotional ceremony at his residence at El Valle de Antón, which at his own glance is a sanctuary to nature and art, and where through his sculpture workshop his age continues to create great works and more dedicated to sculpture.

He responded to Isabel Burgos, national director of the arts of MiCultura and gave his recognition and his best performance with this simple and talented artist.

For his part, Mariela Sagel, Ambassador of Panama to Turkey and one of the promoter of this tribute thanked him by signalling "thank you Juan Carlos Marcos for giving us an invaluable heritage between paintings and sculptures and for loving this country so much."
