House of Art will contribute to science

The Casa del Arte located at the Casco Antiguo could be established as an approximately 6 months at an International Centre of Excellence supported by Spanish universities of Barcelona, Salamanca and Pablo Olide of Seville as shown by the advance of the works of restoration of the property.
The Deputy Minister of Culture (MiCultura), Gabriel González and the Director of the Office of the Casco Antiguo (OCA) attached to this Ministry, Fernando Díaz received rectors from Spanish universities that were and Panama to inspect the progress of restoration works.
The Deputy Minister of Culture, Gabriel González was pleased to note how the restoration process of the House of Art advanced to become the house of Science and have students that are the future of culture and to take advantage of the knowledge offered by universities but always considering inclusion.
Meanwhile, Fernando Díaz, director of the OCA emphasized that the partnership with Spanish universities will be of benefit to the country as these have academic offers related to the conservation of historic heritage.
The work has been under way since 2014, when an agreement was signed between the above mentioned universities and the former National Institute of Culture (INAC), today MiCultura but was suspended by multiple situations.
Each university that forms part of this convention will have an area of specialized training and after-graduate will aim at strengthening the knowledge mainly of graduates and teachers from national universities who wish to continue studies at the level of doctoral or specialist courses or scientific meetings.
The Universidad Pablo Olavio of Seville will offer advanced studies about the Environment and Natural Risks and the University of Salamanca will bring with them postgraduate studies in Nutrition and communities and rights and the University of Barcelona will conduct biomedicine studies focused on hospital management.
It was also advanced that the universities that are part of this convention have advanced discussions with some institutes of advanced studies such as the University of Panama, the University of Technology, UNACHI and the Maritime University of Panama to improve training at this knowledge centre.
