MiCultura and UNESCO join together to protect the documentary heritage.

Members of different civic and governmental groups as well as university students are trained to be part of the Regional Network of First Aid Volunteers for the Protection of Documentary Heritage, who will have the task of setting up specialized teams as a result of an event that puts at risk all we have with regard to historic documents.

The volunteers of this Network will be trained by UNESCO training specialists in property matters, including Samuel Franco, who will assist them in preparing and searching for appropriate mechanisms at any event, such as natural events, conflict (war) situations where important documentation in the country will be put at risk.

According to José Ismael Herrera, general secretary of MiCultura, the documentary part remains very important and humanity has lost far too many documents of all important forms, for different forms of fortuitous events and so we have to seek actions, so this four-day seminar will put forward and organize these joint participation groups to help safeguard this high-value documentation for all Panamanians.

They are voluntary and are increasingly going to join more and more, this is a dynamic that will not stop where the universities, groups dedicated to precisely safeguard are here today the fire force of Panama, the Scouts of Panama, SINAFROC, partners of MiCultura and national libraries that are those that work daily with the documentary part, will prepare to become multiplier agents for other groups of society in this task, "added Herrera.
