First contracts for economic recovery have been signed at Portobelo

The National Government, through the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Labour and Labour Development, promotes the centre of Community Employment at Portobelo with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding that includes employing residents of communities with construction and restoration projects of the State.

From the old Customs Building at Portobelo, it was incumbent upon the Minister of Labour and Labour Development, Doris Zapata and the Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro, to sign the document that will give an impetus to the economy.

During the event, we announced the recruitment of the first Portobeleños, Kevin Francisco Esquina of 23 and Jhonatan Bellido of 36, to join the labor force of the projects of restoration of Customs and colonial fortifications.

The Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro, emphasized his mission with his first two youth hired of the importance of saving his community's cultural wealth and at the same time generating income for their families.
