Panama West, September 4, 2026 - The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) invites Panamanian families to the first meeting with tamboreras Panamanian Piezas, an event in memory of Professor Rufino González designed to pay tribute to his national identity and preserve his musical wealth. The meeting, open to the public, will be held on Saturday, September 19, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Mariano Rivera Stadium.

The regional director of MiCultura, Abdiel Cáceres, explained that the goal is to pay tribute to our homeland, to our identity, to promote youth talent and to preserve the nation's inmaterial cultural heritage. "Because the tamboreras are not only melodies of the past, they are the living beat of our history, today gaining strength in every trumpet, clarinet and drum."

The delegations of the school music gangs will have a central participation in this tribute and will be presented in the following official order:
1. The high educational centre of San Francisco
2. Escuela ÀSan Martín de Porres
3. Escuela ÀPedro Pablo Sánchez
4. The Professional and Technical Institute of La Chorro
5. Instituto Ingeniero Tanto Tomas Guardia
6. College) Moses Island Castle

The deputy Governor of the Province of West Panama, Sara Peña, recognized the importance of creating this kind of place for youth, "that they can get close to national traditions and play them with pride."

) The tamborera Panamanian, born in the 1930s by master badges, was able to merge the autochthonous tamborito with the orchestra and band format. That meeting aims to rescue and exalt the rhythmic structures of the cumbion and the tamborera adapted to wind and percussion formats.

During the day, student gangs will play iconic themes of the national repertoire such as Old Panama, La Guaricha, I'm Panamanian and Guarwill.

) The tamboreras represent the living beat of our history that gain strength in every trumpet, clarinet and drum.

All Panamanian families are invited to wear their best pawns and to accompany this celebration of folklore.
