MiCultura celebrates World Art Day with pictorial exhibition

To commemorate World Art Day, the Ministry of Culture with Panama's Association of Plastic Artists (APAP) will be presenting the exhibition "World Art Day 2021" that will be available from April 15th to 30th at the cultural entity's headquarters and with 20 artists participating.

The pictorial show will feature 25 national artists such as Linda Machivar, Mónica Pérez, Yanuba Samsony and Jansand Campos, Keith Lindsay, Irma de Ycaza, Lucelly Ledesma, José Olivella, Ramón Iromia, Sharon Him, Jenny Mae Rodriguez, Peggy Arias, Luis Rudas and others with high name in the world of Panamanian plastic.

The evening that was awesomized by the quintet of wind wood of the National Symphony Orchestra who led those present to admire beautiful works inspired by the sea, nature, portraits of our countryside, made of oil, acrylic, mixed, charcoal and cake, linoleum carved on wood and more.

Gabriel González, Vice-Minister of Culture, emphasized that this exhibition is an additional proof of our great talent on this earth as well as the confirmation of the valuable cultural diversity that characterizes us. The National Government through the Ministry of Culture always wants to promote, protect and spread the different artistic manifestations as well as innovation and diversity. Because the triumph of each of the artists of Panama, is the triumph of all of us.

The president of the APAP, Luis Rudas thanked the Ministry of Culture for always being ready to support the plastic artists, for hosting the initiative of the celebration of World Art Day and for providing that space to familiarize with the talent of Panamanian artists, through the virtual exhibitions and fairs that have been held.

Each year, on April 15, World Art Day celebrations contribute to strengthening the links between artistic creations and society, to increasing awareness of the diversity of artistic expressions and to highlighting the contribution of artists to sustainable development. Also, this date is an opportunity to highlight artistic education at schools, as culture is the path to an inclusive and equitable education.

That day coincides with the birth of Leonardo da Vinci, considered as one of the most important artists in history, as she was a painter, sculptor, biologist, designer, poet and architect.
