MiCultura supports social work of First Lady's Office

As part of his social and health care tour leading the First Lady's Office, the Ministry of Culture through the National Handicrafts Management participated by attesting more than 40 families of artisan from the Emberá Puru community of the Emberá Wounaan region, an indigenous population living on the banks of the Chagres River and Lake Alajuela.

The tour organized by the Red Cross of Panama in collaboration with Institutions such as SENADIS, MiCultura and Local Authorities represented by the Ancón Reg, aims at providing solutions to vulnerable communities through the delivery of tablets, food bags, basic necessities and other aids for people with disabilities.

To Jaime Luna's National Director of Crafts are more than 40 years old that these families have no government support, with these credits we have seen the work of the artisan, families will have discounts on the purchase of inputs, they will be able to form part of the virtual crafts fairs, access to the course of technologies, networks and online banking and they will be able to get a certification and get close to AMSMEs to choose soft loans and seed capital.

Among the crafts that families produce or manufacture in this community are: bamboo flute, chaquiras, maracas, necklaces and bracelets among others.
