MiCultura remains committed to Plan Panama Solidario program

For a year now, the National Government as a quick action to the global crisis by the presence of COVID19 in our country established the Panama Solidarity Plan (PS) that has helped bring economic relief and emotional peace to the thousands of Panamanian people who have been affected.

As part of this governance plan, public and private authorities, including the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), have come together to conduct a number of strategies that have been thought about by the people that have been confined, and to stop and reduce their contagion with this virus, which has unfortunately cost the lives of thousands of citizens.

MiCultura, as part of this state gears, has been promoting a number of cultural activations with the participation of several artistic branches in the MiCultura En Casa project, with the share of the talent of thousands of Panamanian artists of all genres through our digital platforms, an open television with SERTV and some local broadcasters.

Moreover, in solidarity with those who work voluntarily at the Panama Solidarity Collection Center at ATLAPA, known as La Fábrica. MiCultura has organized artistic presentations that included the Symphony Orchestra and the National Ballet as well as folk presentations, dance, ballet and popular and urban music, with the aim of encouraging those who have been the force for the production of thousands of food bags to be moved to difficult areas.

Also, MiCultura's partners from our headquarters and from our regional directorates, have been part of that labor at national collection centers and have been helping with the delivery of bags to families most in need and also with the tracer phase.

On March 24, the Panama Solidarity Plan program will be a year old and will have been pleased to have distributed the necessary resources for aids that consist of food bags, physical bonds, digital vouchers, COVID traceability and Christmas solidarity. Since then, more than 6,580 Panamanian people work daily at national level in Panama Solidarity, and where more than 1,200 volunteers produce solidarity bags every day.
