MiCultura binds to TALENPRO 2021

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) and the Open Ports Foundation have signed a Cultural Cooperation Convention for the conduct of TALENPRO 2021 (Talento con Propósito), a musical initiative that has been able to distribute scholarships to 39 young people and have had an impact on 15,000 children and adolescents since 2017.

The Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro, stated that it is of great emotion for the institution to support this type of events through the logistic support and technical and institutional cooperation that require to be established in the organisation of this project that will be conducted virtual from 1 March with the period of call up to 24 October 2021, date at which the great final will be held.

Ilka Ender, as a legal representative of the Foundation Talento with Purpose, emphasized the importance of TALENPRO 2021, a contest with best interpretation and best song and best dance and audiovisual work as well as participation of students from public and private schools attending an eleventh and twelfth year of high school in three geographical areas of the country.

For his part, Erika Ender, creator of TALENPRO 2021, explained: "I have always thought that the soul of a country is his culture and with events such as this, we do a transformation of life that will last forever, enabling young people to be agents of change using the branches of art, as it's a fun way that they can express themselves and have that empathy and see the reality of another person and mainly serve through culture."

Erika Ender stated that for this year the event focused on the issue of "Sustainable families" that consists of the establishment of home gardens and birdoffspring, contributing to the fact that the population with food shortages, especially during the global crisis generated by COVID19, have access to an accessible and varied food, leading to better quality of life through the promotion of production systems, inputs donation and technical accompaniment.

The cultural initiative aims at sensitizing young students and encouraging them to become agents of social change, recognizing their personal skills and skills through an individual and social training process with a model of repeatable and replicable practical experience by other student groups.
