Five Ngabe Buglé artisan organisations met with officials from the Ministry of Culture to propose and propose projects to promote a reactivation of the region's economy.
The organizations, led by women, put forward at the meeting a number of requests, including an accreditation tour at the region, an invitation to an artisan fair on May 14 in the local area and an accreditation of the artisan and a request for a space to create an artisan market, the Nagua Museum project and support in the purchase of equipment and tools to manufacture their products.
Carlos Aguilar Navarro, Minister of Culture, received his delegation and appointed an institutional team to meet his needs and requests through his deputy Minister of Culture, Gabriel González, his Cultural Rights and Citizenship and his National Handicrafts.
The meeting was attended by Alpleris Gallego (JOBO), Isabela Bejiano (OCHA), Aurelia Montero (Mironó Chronomo), Omaira Silvera (SINAMU), Lucia Girón (MAGATAKRADEGO), Andrea Santo (BLOSOGU) and Urcinia Palacios Reyes (Betsy crafts).
Deputy Minister González reiterated his willingness to work with all groups and emphasized the importance of ensuring that culture was always inclusive and that it reached throughout Panama, especially with its native peoples and with all vulnerable groups.
"To be able to work with all of you is to make sure that cultural expressions reach them all.
The issue of the cultural history of every community is definitely very important and we have to rescue and do so now, "emphasized his deputy ministers.
For his part, Jaime Luna, National Director of Handicrafts at MiCultura, remarked that the institution keeps an open-door policy and this approach serves to propose a number of cultural issues on the agenda and thus to support communities with clear proposals.
During the meeting, My Culture's team listened to the proposals and provided information to the women's leaders about how much support they could give them once a visit to the community and how they saw the needs of each association.
