MiCultura to be a Traveling Exposition for International Women's Day

From March 8 to 30, commemorates International Women's Day, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) will host the collective "Expo Art Espatula, brush, chisel and fire: A 9-woman look," which will be composed of 15 works of paintings and 3 sculptures, prepared by 9 ladies of the Panamanian plastic arts with an extensive international trajectory.

Coquí Calderón, Mai Yap, Victoria Suescum, Michelle Hart, Elsy Acosta, Silvia Costa, Chini Carles, Miriam Klein and Giovani Emiliani integrate this extraordinary collective that will embody the terrace of the cultural headquarters and that aims to transmit to those present, diverse messages that seek to empower and show Panamanian society their capacity to create and express their art in a different way.

Gabriel González, Vice Minister of Culture, mentioned that for cultural entity it's a pleasure to create bridges with our artists, to reveal the creative work of human beings and to give an best possible display of their work. We think that art should be present throughout the country. That's why non-conventional sites are also suitable spaces for public contact with the different manifestations related to the arts.

The mobile visual art show will be opened on March 8 at 5: 30 p.m. on the terrace of the new headquarters of MiCultura, located at the pH Tula building. The other stops at which the public can enjoy this exhibition are the National Assembly lobby, from 6 to 15 April and the National Institute for Women from 19 to 30 April.

That art exhibition was an initiative of the Commission for Women, Children, Youth and Family of the National Assembly of Panama and the Association of Parliamentarians and Former Parliamentarians of the Republic of Panama (AFARLEXPA) with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the National Institute for Women (INAMU) and the Centre for Gender Studies and Competencies (CECGE).
