With the aim of encouraging literary creation and discovering new voices throughout the country, the Ministry of Culture launched its main challenges: the Mid-Chicken Children's Fairy contest, the Rosa María Britton Youth Fairy contest, the Ariel Barria Narrative Award, the Gustavo Batista Young Poetry contest, the Pedro Correa Literary Prize and the Carlos Francisco Changmarín Children's and Youth Literature Award.

Redirected to children, youth and emerging writers, these initiatives cover different genres and ages and are put as a key platform for development of national literary talent.

The call includes the Mid-Fold Fairy Children's Fairy contest, aimed at students from the 4th to 6th grades of public and private schools, with their registration open till May 15th with a writing day scheduled for June.

At youth level, the Rosa María Britton Counting Contest will be awarded jobs by students from VII to XII till May 22. The Ariel Barria Narrative Award - in the tale genre - will be closed June 4, while the Gustavo Batista Young Poetry contest, directed at writers under the age of 35, will be scheduled for May 29.

The offer is complete with the Pedro Correa Literary Prize, which conforms to proposals for a tale or a novel up to June 5, and with the Carlos Francisco Changmarín Prize for Children and Youth Literature, focused on poetry for children and youth, whose closure will be June 1.
