6 companies will participate in bidding to create Colón's Center for Art and Culture

Representatives of six companies interested in participating in the public event for the restoration of the old Abel Bravo College, which will be transformed into a Centre for Fine Cultural Arts and Industries, have been passing through the facilities with the Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro and his work team.

The restoration of property and property challenges one of the 125 priority tasks of President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen's Government Plan dedicated to the cultural sector.

Irasema Dale, Governor of Colón Province and Alex Lee, mayor of the District and Marta Máías, representative of the South quarter of Colón, welcomed government authorities and discussed a number of cultural and heritage issues with the aim of following up a number of projects that seek to have a positive impact on the image of the Atlantic coast.

Also, Aguilar Navarro stated that the work visit has been very useful because as well as this activity, a meeting was also held with the Bishop of the Diocese of Colón, Bishop Manuel Ochogavía Barahona to coordinate actions in the restoration of the Church of Portobelo and the possibility of a structural technical study of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, located in the town of Colon.

During the work tour, company representatives met with the group of men and women who have been working to clear up the Abel Bravo College Building, who demand that they be taken into account as jobs in this restoration process.

On the other hand, Minister Aguilar Navarro met with urban artists, who were invited to participate in the activities of the ministry so that they can develop their talent, promote their artistic expression and serve as a tool for cultural promotion for the benefit of the province.
