They publish an invitation to tender to restore an old Abel Bravo school and to create the Center for Art and Culture at Colón

The Ministry of Culture published a public event at the PanamaPurchase portal with best value for the restoration of the old Abel Bravo college, which will become the Centre for Art and Culture at Colón, in fulfilment of task 96 as referred to in the priority actions of President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen's Government Plan.

Minister Carlos Aguilar explained that an initiative called "Studies, design, restoration, adequacy, construction of new areas, equipment and furniture of the old Abel Bravo College to house the Colón Center of Art and Culture," will be undertaken with public participation that will determine the use of spaces that will be developed there.

He also expressed that "this great project allows us to restore to the architecture of the old Abel Bravo the dignity of the space that came from and the functionality and equipment required to be an innovative building for cultural use with the accompaniment of the colonist community."

With the restoration of the old educational centre to install the cultural centre, we will seek the elimination of pathologies on its walls, Rebuilding the currently missing cover, to restore its concrete structure currently at an advanced stage of degradation and to provide the building with a consona service infrastructure to today's time with technical specifications with modern equipment for the development of creative and cultural disciplines.

The National Government has instructed the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Culture to have the budgetary allocation to allow the construction and restoration of the building to set up the Centre for Fine Arts for the development of the Creative and Cultural Industries in the country.
