Panama January 30, 2026. Colón had a historic night with the First Caribbean International Festival, held at the Center for Art and Culture at Colón (CACCO) and that from now its place has been guaranteed in the cultural calendar of the country: it will be held every year, as announced by the Minister of Culture, María Eugenia Herrera, during the closing event.

The festival brought together national and international artists at a great celebration of the cultural and musical diversity of the Caribbean, Jorge Rodriguez Vives, Minister of Culture and Youth of Costa Rica, opened the show and became felt through an artistic show that brought to stage the wealth of the cultural heritage of that Central American country,followed by the Dominican Republic with the Guayacan Group that with its contagious energy and its folklore dance they invited everyone to dance.

While Panama was represented by icons such as The Beachers, Joe Montana, Nando Boom, Pablo Mures and Kafu Banton, they offered a show that put people of all ages to play and dance.

The day was thought of as a space for the whole family with artistic performances, colonese cuisine, children's area and the active participation of entrepreneurs and artisans who shared knowledge, traditions and creativity, reflecting the wealth of the Caribbean and the Afro-descendant heritage that distinguishes the province.

Children, youth and adults enjoyed a healthy, cheerful and festive atmosphere. The Beachers made the most adults dance, Joe Montana and Nando Boom light up the public with their great success, and Kafú Bantug closed his night with a golden clasp that let the CACCO vibrate with emotion.

During the closure, Minister Herrera thanked the colonese community for their participation and commitment: "We are working for Colón with all love and care. You are the protagonists of this cultural and sustainable development. That's about you and for you."

With this first edition, Colón did not only celebrate his Caribbean identity but officially opened a new cultural chapter that will, from now on, come back every year to continue to fill with music, tradition and pride to the province.
