Panama 30 December 2025. The President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, emphasized important advances in cultural matters and emphasized his Government's commitment to protecting the heritage, strengthening the artisan sector and enabling citizens to have access to artistic activities.

One of the most important points mentioned above was the adoption by the UNESCO's World Heritage Committee of the registration of Panama's Transitory Colonial Route on the World Heritage List, an international recognition that puts into value the history, identity and cultural relevance of the country to the world.

In the area of property conservation, the incumbent reported that 59 million dollars have been invested in the restoration of works for the rescue of national heritage, where orders have been given to conduct iconic projects such as Portobelo, Santiago de la Gloria Castle, the Fuertes de San Fernando and San Jerónimo, as well as Reina Torres Museum of Araúz.

President Mulino also emphasized the positive impact of the 2025 National Crafts Fair, with an increase of 60% in artisan participation, as compared with previous years, strengthening the economy and visualizing Panamanian artisan talent.

Another success noted by the incumbent was the Vibra Panama program, which brought together more than 200,000 people in 85 cultural functions performed for the whole family and became one of the most far-reaching initiatives in promoting art at the national level.

With these results, culture is built up as a strategic axis for the development of the country, the preservation of historic memory and the impetus of Panamanian social integration.
