Comarca Ngäbe- Buglé, Cerro Iglesia, October 15, 2025 From the heart of the region, where the history and tradition of a people that keeps his identity alive flourish, the Ministry of Culture accompanied the celebration of the First Parade of the Mil Naguas 2025, a deeply autochthonous activity that paid tribute to the inheritance and spirit of Ngäbe- Buglé woman.

With the motto "Pride, identity and tradition in every nagua," this festival became a sign of cultural wealth that distinguishes the region. Cerro Iglesia became a stage of color, rhythm and joy, where every woman proudly shed her nagua, knitting at every step his people's history. The streets were filled with traditional dances, autochthonous music and cultural expressions that reflected the strength and unity of the community.

The Ministry of Culture was invited with honor and emphasized its commitment to the promotion and preservation of traditions that identify Panama. The General Secretary, Ivis Moreno, was represented by Minister María Eugenia Herrera and expressed his satisfaction with accompanying an event that was born from the roots of the country.

"I have been proud to participate in this first parade of the thousand naguas, with our responsibility to work with our communities, to preserve and promote their cultural expressions and to open spaces where the Ngäbe Buglé voice will be valued and respected."

The presence of the team of the Regional Cultural Direction of the Ngäbe- Buglé region and the Regional Direction of Chiriquí consolidates institutional representation, bringing together efforts to accompany all Panamanians in activities and projects that promote history, art and spirituality.

The parade, chaired by the Corregiment Representative, Roberto Guerrero, was also supported by other public institutions, who have been an enthusiastic party to this day of national pride and have shown the importance of working together to preserve the traditions that give our country an identity.

The Ministry of Culture celebrates this milestone as a symbol of the value of our roots, recognizing in every nagua the art, legacy and strength of Ngäbe- Buglé women.
