The Ministry of Culture promotes artisan talent at Darién

Panama, September 5, 2025. - Last weekend, the Regional Direction of the Ministry of Culture at Darién, supported the contest of crafts at Madera and Ebanistas, at Santa Fe Park, as part of the actions that the institution develops to strengthen cultural identity, promote local talent and generate opportunities for growth for entrepreneurs in the province.
The contest, organized annually by Panama Reforestation Service S.A., became a showcase for artisans to put forward their products and share their knowledge, encouraging creative exchange and economic dynamic of the region.
The day also saw an Institutional and Crafts Fair of Entrepreneurs, bringing together more than 300 people and offering a space for promotion and commercialization and becoming a community meeting place around art, tradition and local production.
The participation of Darién Regional of MiCultura provides accompaniment to artisans and entrepreneurs, in their development and strengthening through programs and activities that keep the cultural expressions of each province alive.
The regional culture team played an important role in organizing and implementing the activities and put together institutional and community efforts to ensure their success.
A total of 23 artisan from the province of Darién, ebanists, talkers and creators of the ancestral knowledge have been involved and have enriched the cultural and production sample of the fair.
For the Ministry of Culture, promoting these forms of spaces in the provinces is vital, as this strengthens cultural identity, promotes local talent, promotes entrepreneurship and contributes to the economic development of communities by strengthening an inclusive and sustainable cultural ecosystem throughout the country.
