Panama City 14, August 2025 - Writer Edilsa Evelyn Lozano was awarded with the Carlos Francisco Changmarín's National Prize for Children and Youth Literature 2025 for his work "We will play with the tale while they ride the rounds," unanimously selected by the jury from 42 proposals received.

The qualifying jury, composed of Blanca Montenegro, Melitón Robles Esquina and Gilma Romero, emphasized that the work "nests an enormous sensitivities to the children's world with a well prepared and structured content that combines light-literary and evocations that strengthen the link with our cultural roots."

With a language rich in sensory and symbolic images, "We will play with the tale as they ride the rounds" invites its readers to a journey full of games, memories and tradition, ensuring their permanence in the memory of those who enjoy them.

Among the other participating works, the Jury referred especially to "The Scared Reapes and Makes Croac," submitted under the pseudonym "Ranida."

Evelyn, has twice won the Hersilia Ramos de Argote prize awarded by the University of Technology of Panama in the children's and youth's story. In 2017 with the work "The singer of birds and other voices from heaven, earth and sea" and in 2022 with the work: "My grandmother is a fairy."

In 2022 she earned second place at the Carlos Francisco Changmarín Municipal Literature Competition, from the Mayor's office of Panama, a story version with the work "Calderas Mágicas"

At the Changmarín contest, organized by the Ministry of Culture, she had an opportunity to have an honorary name at two times.

Evelyn Lozano emphasized that "I love telling stories since I remember. The best way to translate them is by means of the word and I have found in the literary contest, a platform to share my works."

The Carlos Francisco Changmarín National Prize for Children and Youth Literature, convened by the Ministry of Culture, recognizes every year the authors who enrich the literature directed at children and youth, promoting imagination, reading and saving cultural values.
