Panama City, August 5, 2025. - The XLV National Crafts Feria was put up as a gala to reward those who keep the traditions of the country alive through their talent and creativity. At nightsittings, pollera and national costumes, artisans and bearers of ancestral knowledge have shown that the Panamanian cultural heritage remains more valid than ever.

The 2025 Shirt contest
Dedicated to the memory of the artisan teacher Edia Edicta of Vásquez, the contest paid tribute to male elegance. The first place was for Iris Marín Velásquez (West Panama), who put up a nightsitter made by Belkis Melgar. Roberto Jesús Ledezma Rivera (Chiriquí) followed him second place with a design by César Harding Bejarano, while the third place was for José García Cano (Los Santos), bearing a piece created by Bolívar González.

The Best Password Award was awarded at Eulises Manuel Pérez Chavarría (Los Santos), who dazzled the public with a work by his own Edicta de Vásquez, a symbol of his legacy.

pollera National Competition
With 20 participants and an outstanding level of competition. At pollera Shadow, the first place was for Yanela del Pilar Villarreal, followed by Vanessa Rodriguez second and Andrea Lucía Quezada Montiel third place.

At pollera Marcada, the winner was Rosa Catalina Achurra, accompanied by Ana Liz Moreno at second place and Darlin Pérez at third place.

The pollera Zurich category awarded Liza Marie Chen as first, Geraldine Reyes as second and Ireland Martínez Rodriguez as third.

The best recognition of the event, Grand Winner of the pollera 2025 National Competition, was awarded to Rosa Catalina Achurra, attesting his talent as a reference to this tradition.

National Indumentaria contest
The tour of the cultural diversity of the country also had its protagonists. At Regional Green Polleras, the first place was for Maria de Jesús Díaz, followed by Gladys Anabelle Quintero and Odette Tebeira.

At the Occueñas Regional Polleras, she rose with the Kathia Isabel Cedeño victory while Dalis Saavedra earned second place.

The Tela Stampada Polleras awarded Ana Esther Felipe Cano first, Dafne Rodriguez second and Dayra Córdoba de Castillo third.

The category pollera congo distinguished Isis Guerra as his winner, followed by Aneisy Valencia Jiménez and Ahea Foster Douglas.

At pollera Blanca without Hand Worker, the first place was for Silvia Edith Guerra, accompanied by Antikaris Adrew Rodriguez and Vivian del Carmen Morrain Rojas.

Finally, at Orfebreria, Mary of Jesus Diaz earned the Best Tocado Award for his pollera Vergüense while the Medal to the pollera was for Silvia Edith Guerra.

Also, the outstanding prize to Artesanía 2025 was for Hilda González Vega (Chiriquí), who was recognized for his impeccable work with carved wood.

With these events, the National Crafts Fair meets with the preservation of the cultural roots of Panama, recognizing the efforts of those with every tipstick and every piece that keep the national identity alive.
