Panama, 3 August 2025. - A full public auditorium closed the National Crafts Feria 2025, in its 45 version. The largest and most important artisan event of the year closed with the presentation of the dubious Alejandro Torres. A few minutes earlier, his car was hijacked with a public notary and his winning ticket turned out to be from the lady María León of the province of Panama.

This year, the fair had 643 artisan's and more than 400 artisan's from 2024. In 2025, the largest number of artisan came from the region of Azuero, followed by the province of Chiriquí and after Coclé. Of the 643 artisan's, 494 are women. More than 100 hours of presentations, about 120 folkloric groups, more than 10 inclusion groups and 5 high-track musicians.

The "Heritage: Ancestral Know" was emphasized at the ATLAPA Convention Center from 30 July to 3 August and reaffirmed its commitment to Panamanian cultural identity and with a clear mission: honor the past, celebrate the present and project the future.

In addition to the artisan sample, training was available to the artisan and public at large, with an emphasis on "how to sell for Amazon." That initiative aims to prepare the artisan to create and publish his catalogues at Amazon Handmade, a category of this platform dedicated exclusively to handmade products.

On the morning of this last day was held the Dominican Eucharist that was attended by artisans and visitors and united to give thanks to God and to recognize that honoring our roots and evaluating the work of our hands is also a way to evangelize.

In his homily, his priest emphasized: "When a people honor his identity and value his work, Christ is present. The work dignifies those who do so."

The winner of the contest Maestra Artesana 2025, Mrs. Gloria Lina Hernández, received the "San José Decor" amidst the opening, attended by the First Lady of the Maricel Cohen Republic of Mulino. With this medal she rewarded long and productive master craftsmen.

A number of artisan experiences, with no additional costs, were offered with great success to the attendees, as for example pottery and ceramics, showing the technique of milling pieces of mud with pre-Columbian art, representing the Mestizo tradition with an original influence.

I work with leather, with the fabric of traditional cuttings as a representation of peasant culture. The Fairy Congos, with the production of masks and their clothing, representing the Afro-colonial culture and, textiles and fibre emberá, with the embroidery of traditional fibres and bastiere of the people emberá.

Each night resulted in a full total, with the presentation of typists of the size of Samy and Sandra Sandoval, Nenito Varga, Jonathan Chavez and Ulpiano Vergara and an additional presentation to Alejandro Torres that closed the fair.
