MiCultura presented Gala of Inclusive Culture 2020: "A World for All"

Panama, 7 December 2020 -On 6 December, as part of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) introduced the second version of the Inclusive Cultural Gala with the participation of artists with and without disabilities, who have shown their talent in different disciplines such as music, dance, theater, poetry and plastic arts.

This year's Gala, which was part of the program of "MiCultura En Casa" had an official song entitled "A world for all " composed by the artist Luis Mario, who through this melody sent a message about that, despite the differences, we have the same rights and we can all live together in society, highlighting the capacity, courage, will and impetus that people with disabilities have to stand out in every aspect of their lives.

Gabriel González, deputy ministers of culture, stated that the inclusion of persons with disabilities forms the fundamental basis for a country's sustainable and transformative progress especially at this time of great challenges and called for a dialogue to achieve a better Panama.

Retiring the barriers we have achieved the inclusion of persons with disabilities on an equal footing. The promotion of artistic and cultural events from the extraordinary contribution of persons with disabilities is the goal that forms part of the promotion of a highly dynamic inclusive culture in our country, added Gabriel González.

That unique and unparalleled event was organized for the second consecutive year through the MiCultura Office of Equal Opportunities with a view to promoting the cultural rights of persons with disabilities by encouraging their presence, participation and membership in culture.

The event that was recorded at the National Theater with all biosecurity measures can be seen again by our Youtube Canal, Panama's Ministry of Culture, an example of MiCultura's strategies and efforts to ensure that people with disabilities are included on an equal footing and thus reduce discrimination in Panama.

Jorge Morales, director of the office of Equal Opportunities at MiCultura indicates that with this event we wish to show to the public how diversity expressed through art and culture they have been put into play by people with different types of disabilities as visual, intellectual, physical and auditory, among others, where a sample of plastic arts was also given.
