Panama City, July 5, 2025. - The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), through the National Section of The Arts, opened the workshops of the Writer Training Programme (PROFE), a valuable platform for literary development in Panama, with more than 70 participants at its headquarters.

The day includes storyteller, novel and script workshops, dictated by renowned writers who have been awarded the Ricardo Miró National Literature Competition, such as Ela Urriola (tale), Alondra Badano (novel) and Edgar Soberón Torchia (script).

The classes will be taught with face to face for a period of four months, every Saturday from 9: 30 a.m. to 1: 30 p.m.

The deputy ministers of culture, Arianne Benedetti, was present at the inaugural event, encouraging assistants to fully live this creative experience. "To write is a powerful tool, not only for work but for life itself. I began to write to make films and found how beautiful it is to find you alone with the letters," she shared during his intervention.

Aleida Deregacia, head of the Fairs and Literary Meetings department, emphasized the importance of creating spaces of sustained training: "That program aims to give writers and new professionals the tools necessary to develop the art of writing with depth and commitment. Writing isn't just inspiration, but also technical and discipline, and that's what we seek to strengthen with PROFE."

With this new edition of PROFE, the Ministry of Culture continues with the initiative to form new literary talents to further enrich the culture of the country and strengthen our letters.
