Cultural event in Honour to the Black Age

The Ministry of Culture invites citizens to celebrate the Black Age Month with a varied and public cultural event, Thursday, May 29th at 3: 30 p.m. at the City of the Arts Gallery.
The day aims to highlight the cultural, historic and artistic wealth of the Afro-descendant population in Panama, recognizing its valuable contribution to national identity.
The event will have artistic presentations by students from the National School of Dances, from the level of initiation to high tech as well as from free sabatine course. Children and youth between 5 and 22 will give life to the stage with choreographies inspired by Afro-African rhythms.
Iguandili López, director of the National School of Dances, emphasized that this activity aims to "visualise the vitality and meaning of Afro-danced dances, fundamental pillars of our cultural expression."
The Ministry of Culture extends this invitation to the whole community to proudly celebrate our Afro-roots through dance, music and arts.
